Clint Smith - LearnScope Showcase

Designing e-Learning Showcase webiste at http://designing.flexiblelearning.net.au/

Challenge at the start of project was defining it! Three main types could be seen as:

eTraining - main applications in corporate world for IT Training, product knowledge, compliance, induction

Distance Ed - supported, lecturing, use LMS, teacher author, uses around reflective learning, higher ed

Web in Classroom - teacher led, ‘found’ material, schools, access programs in TAFE and ACE

Then went looking to see what was happening in VET… Of course, it all tends to be available only to people who are enrolled.

(Hopefully my battery will last to the end of Clint’s talk, fingers crossed)

The learning design maps are great - check out the Learning Design section. Also the Gallery of Strategies is great - check out the four sections about Content, Activities, Support and Assessment.

A spin off from this site was a Learning Design Toolkit I made which is available at /2005/learning-design-toolkit.htm

elearning as a solution - case studies on website spell out why elearning was the solution - what it meant for the students, what technology was available, the market for the course etc.
