Encouraging coaching after workshops

Some of the workshops I run are about showing participants a range of tools that they may later, sometimes much later, implement. To formalise the offer of coaching and follow-up, how about giving them a ‘voucher’ for coaching - after a hands on session on blogging for example, you might present participants with a two hour voucher for one-on-one coaching and support when they actually implement it in their practice.

Some participants are really happy to ask for help, this might encourage take-up from more. On the voucher you would also include some reminders about web references, contact names, emails and numbers or links to resources (all available online of course!).

It would be interesting to track the uptake. One issue sometimes with professional development activities sometimes is knowing whether people actually implement the ideas. One side of the voucher could even be a postcard that they send back through internal mail to confirm the implementation and use of the coaching offered.
