Today I participated in an Elluminate session by Alex Hayes on moblogging

Before the session started we were sent some SMS and MMS messages which got me thinking about experiencing this as a student which was something new for me.

DUring the session we explored various issues and ways of using moblogging with students, as well as doing some moblogging ourselves into the aflf site (address below).

It would be great to repeat the experience with some teachers here, I’m not sure how many people have access to camera phones as we tend to buy lower end phones for staff although that is changing slowly as cameraphones get cheaper. This session reminded me that a simple approach can be very powerful, we ‘did’ moblogging, and could see the results immediately, and also had time to talk about how to use in teaching, learning and assessment in a vey positive way. The moblogging process itself is very easy (and made easier by saving the email address the first time!!!!)
There’s been a mobile phone catalogue sitting on the kitchen table that has been beckoning - I’d like to be able to have a good quality camera phone, and use it for blogging - I’m probably in the odd spot for a gadget person of my work phone being more up to date than my personal one. Cutting down the barriers of remembering the camera, taking the photos, downloading them and blogging them. Hmm, lots of food for thought.
